Centre de ressources pour les visiteurs

The Visitor Resource Centre (VRC) program includes the Let's Read a Book project designed to help incarcerated individuals stay connected to the children in their lives through reading.

How Does It Work?

The incarcerated individual picks a book for a child in their family and audio records themselves reading it. â€‹The child gets sent the book and the recording to hear their family member's voice anytime they want!

What Books are Available?

Thanks to funds from the Correctional Service of Canada, CFCN has put together an inclusive and diverse library of books for kids of all ages, religions, and cultures, including classics like Charlotte’s Web, Goodnight Moon, and The Very Hungry Caterpillar, and recent favourites like Sweetest Kulu, I am QueenThe Wonky Donkey, and I am Enough.

Participant sites currently include Joyceville Institution, Nova Institution for Women, Atlantic Institution, and Stony Mountain Institution.
